The Duchess Observes . . .

Los Angeles Art Show 2010

(George Leslie Hunter, Still Life with Fruit, Oil on Panel, signed; exhibited by Abby M. Taylor Fine Art LLC, Greenwich, Connecticut)

Last night the Duchess made her way down to the Opening Night Preview Party for the Los Angeles Art Show, now through January 24 at the Los Angeles Convention Center (West Hall).

Armed with a glass or two of serviceable prosecco, the Duchess wandered through the exhibition stalls, sadly, without her camera. The Art Show is worth seeing, and the Duchess was partial to the artists and galleries featured here.

(No. 16, Japanese Watercolors of Irises, Watercolor on paper, Japan, 19th century)

(French School Botanical, Watercolor, pen and pencil on paper, France, 17th century)

These two lovely watercolors were exhibited by the Arader Galleries of San Francisco. To the Duchess's eye Arader presented some of the finest works.

The Manny Silverman Gallery on North Almont also carries some nice pieces. James Brooks was heavily featured at the show.

For the budget-conscious, there were a few Francis Bacons to be had.

All in all, quite a treat. The Duchess observes, and recommends, Los Angeles Art Show 2010, principally sponsored by the Fine Arts Dealers Association.
