Yesterday many of you may have witnessed the performance of one of the world's greatest rock bands -- The Who. The Duke informs that The Who entertained at the half-time show for some football game, the name of which is escaping me.
The Duchess does love The Who, however, a romance first inspired by the fantastic film Quadrophenia. You haven't seen it? You must!
Quadrophenia (based on The Who's rock opera album of the same name) reenvisions the rivalries of the Jets and the Sharks, with a little bit of The Outsiders and some British punk thrown in. Set in England in the 1960s, it roughly follows the story of protagonist Jimmy, member of the Mods, and his youth-in-revolt attitudes and actions.
Sting cameos as Mod posterboy Ace Face. Not quite the British rocker in musical film historical performance given by David Bowie in Labyrinth (could anything be, really?), but it's a classic notwithstanding.
A legendary track from the Quadrophenia album is "Cut My Hair":
Why should I care
If I got to cut my hair?
I got to move with the fashion
Or be outcast.
In homage to The Who and its Quadrophenia, the Duchess is now shorn a la Linda Evangelista. She's got to move with the fashion or be outcast, you know.
