The Duchess Remembers.

Keith Irvine

It is with great sadness we learned that legendary decorator and Scotsman supreme Keith Irvine passed away, on May 31 at the age of 82.  He is survived by his wife Chippy, daughters Emma and Jassy, and one granddaughter.  Mr. Irvine worked first in London at Colefax and Fowler, then after moving to New York began his own decorating firm, Irvine & Fleming.  Irvine & Fleming created interiors for many noteworthy clients, including Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Diana Ross, Cary Grant, Pat and William F. Buckley, Felicia and Leonard Bernstein, Sir Laurence Olivier and Vivian Leigh, Prince Aly Kahn, Gov. Averill and Marie N. Harriman and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor.  A book of his work, Keith Irvine:  A Life in Decoration, was published by Monacelli in 2005.
